THE FIRST SMAW

TRAVELLING FELLOWSHIP

FOR UK

The organising committee of SMAW announces OVERSEAS EXCHANGE PROGRAM for Indian postgraduates in orthopaedics and sports medicine.

A four week travelling observer fellowship with overseas faculty at one or two Centres of Excellence will be organised in the month of May 2023.

SMAW invites application from interested candidates for the above program.

pre-requisite to apply includes

  • MS Orthopaedic degree
  • Two years post PG experience
  • Some experience/fellowship/association with Indian surgeon doing arthroscopy and Sports medicine work

Two recommendation letters

  • A sports medicine consultant
  • IAS or IOA member

The interested candidate should send

  • Application with an updated CV
  • Latest photograph
  • Recommendation letter from the
    mentors

On receipt of the application, we will shortlist the candidate who would then register for smaw-2023 on 19th march. During the meeting a orientation for the fellows will be conducted. This will be followed by one-to-one interview on 21st March 2023 depending on the number of candidates.

Fellowship includes

  • Exposure to Sports medicine work at one or two reputed Centers in UK
  • Flight and travel arrangements to UK., and an allowance for boarding and lodging
  • Mentorship by a senior UK faculty

At the end of the fellowship the fellow would be expected to submit a report of the fellowship on a specified format and also to present his experience in next SMAW 2024.
